COMMUNITY SPIRITUAL LEADER

Reverend Soni Cantrell-SmithReverend Soni Cantrell is the founding minister and spiritual leader of the Ahava Center for Spiritual Living. Rev. Soni is a compassionate and passionate leader who believes in inspiring others to live to their fullest potential. Her lively style, her quick wit and her Appalachian wisdom have led her to be called the female Will Rogers. Rev. Soni continually challenges herself to allow God to inspire her to live an enlightened life on planet earth.

Rev. Soni earned her Master’s degree in Consciousness Studies from Holmes Institute Los Angeles in 2006, and she is a licensed minister with the United Centers for Spiritual Living. Prior to founding Ahava Center for Spiritual Living, Rev. Soni was the assistant minister, director of pastoral care and music director for Namasté Spiritual Center in Long Beach, California. Rev. Soni has completed over 1200 hours of training as a hospital chaplain.

Born in the Appalachians, Rev. Soni has always had a close relationship with God. One of the many ways she has expressed her love of God is through music. Rev. Soni has been performing music since she was three, first with her family, then, as an adult, as a touring musician with various musical groups. In addition to being an accomplished vocalist, Rev. Soni plays a variety of instruments. One of her most sacred musical accomplishments is The Enlightenment, a musical written by Rev. Soni and John Kito, which represents in music the soul of New Thought philosophy. This inspiring musical has been performed before religious and secular audiences with great success.

Reverend Soni is honored to call Lexington home.
